Staff Analysis of the Legislation

Whenever a restraining order, protective order or similar court order relating to harassment, workplace violence, domestic violence, stalking or elder abuse is served by a sheriff's deputy or marshal, then the sheriff or marshal must notify the protected person by email or telephone, if requested by the protected person, that the order has been served on the restrained person within 24 hours.  Jurisdictions already provide this service.
